You say you WANT to start living without regrets.
Nonetheless, do you continue to eat the same way and beat yourself up for your lack of self-control?
You say you WANT to finish your projects.
Still, do you say you just can’t get yourself into that mode and you just can’t find the initiative?
What’s going on when you’re NOT doing what you say you WANT to do?
Observe the difference between knowing and doing
This is powerful because it helps you honestly uncover what you really want in your life, along with your resistance to making it happen.
You can continue to blame external circumstances that keep you from mastering your targets, but complaining and blaming disappear once you accept that YOU are in control of your own life.
Your empowerment starts with controlling your habits – your habitual thoughts AND behaviors. Uncovering your nonproductive patterns is the starting point to a better life ahead.
Become aware of your voice of resistance.
“Oh, you can just eat that little cookie. Or, maybe two.”
“Tomorrow will be better weather. Clean the shed tomorrow… or maybe even when the season changes.”
“You’re not strong enough. Give it up.”
It’s there… that voice. And it’s persistent and STRONG.
Remember this… that voice is just part of YOUR OWN INNER STRENGTH.
So, this is your new plan. Let’s call it your turnaround toward living without regrets:
- Be aware of the thought. e.g. “Oh, I’ll work on that 5 pounds tomorrow.” “I’ll exercise tomorrow.” “I’ll declutter tomorrow.”
- Banish that thought! In your mind, or even out loud, say “switch” or “go away” or “I’m in control here.”
- Reaffirm to yourself that you CAN do anything you choose. Of course you can!
That stubborn voice returns over and over, but once you’ve learned to recognize it, you can laugh at it, and know that it’s just a thought, and thoughts can be changed.
And WHO controls your thoughts?
YOU are the master of your own thoughts.
Declare in the comment box below, “I AM MASTER OF MY OWN THOUGHTS AND BEHAVIORS.“
Yes, YOU are now living without regrets!
